We want to make sure there is always someone you can turn to if you are worried about anythingÂ
If you are feeling upset or unsafe, are worried about a friend, scholar or yourself, or you feel like something just isn’t right, speak to our safeguarding team.
All staff hold up to date training and qualifications and complete annual CPD to ensure compliance best practice. Risk assessments and safeguarding policies are available in the Policies section.

Ian Wyles – Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Ian oversees all safeguarding strategy and compliance across First Star Scholars UK. With a background in safeguarding, inclusive education and policy leadership, he ensures that every young person is supported, protected, and heard. Ian leads staff training, risk assessments, and safeguarding reviews with clarity and care.
Diarmuid Molloy – Deputy Safeguarding Lead
Diarmuid supports the day-to-day implementation of safeguarding procedures, working closely with scholars, carers and staff. His calm, approachable style helps build trust and transparency across the programme. Diarmuid ensures concerns are responded to promptly and sensitively.
